1. as you replace your light bulbs, switch them over to the compact florescent light bulbs–they do cost a little more to buy than the regular bulbs, but they last a whole lot longer and you'll save money in the long run.
2. change your air filters in the house once a month (unless you are using a 3 month filter-then change it every three months) Clean filters will make your heating/ac not work so hard.
3. keep the thermostat at 68 or 69 degrees in the winter (throw on a sweater inside the house) and at 78 degrees in the summer. Also switch to an electronic thermostat that you can program for different temps at different times of the day. for example: in the winter, cooler than normal when no one is home, and then warm it up when people are in the house.
4. if you have outside lights, set them on a timer so they come on and go off a specific times, rather than stay on all the time. or switch to solar powered outside lights. Also use timers inside, so if you need a light to be on when you come home at night, it doesn't have to be on all day.
5. use dimmer switches when appropriate. If you have ceiling fans, make sure they are set to the winter setting (turning backwards to help force the warm air down)
6. make sure your attic space is insulated. Make sure your furnace and hot water heater are up to date–if they are over 25 years old, you will need a new one. In the meantime use a jacket on your hot water heater and make sure there are no drafts around your windows. Use storm windows or cover them in plastic.
7. in winter, on areas of the house where sun comes in the windows–open the drapes to let the sun and heat in. In summer use shades to help block the strong sunlight.
8. Turn off lights and appliances that don't need to be on when no one is in the room or at home.
I believe that those involved previously or currently in the military are able to request a discount at the Shades of Green hotel in Orlando, you might want to ask about it.
As for other saving money tips:
- Bring your breakfast with you. Pack granola bars and other non-perishable morning type items with you. Saves you at least $150 for your whole trip if you're not going to do the Disney Dining plan.
- Empty that cup of coins. Every household has that jar of spare change. Right before your trip, bring it to a Coinstar machine and cash it in. Use that money for souveneirs, it gives you a budget.
- If your kids are into the Disney pin trading, buy some on Ebay before you go. That way you don't have to spend $8-12.50 a pop for the pins and your children can trade at their own will with cast members.
- Once again, if you're not going to use the Disney Dining Plan, eat at more expensive establishments during lunch time. It has a similar menu but the food is for a cheaper price.
- Use Disney's Magical Express airport transfers if you're staying on Disney property. It is absolutely free and hassle free.

make a list of all the gifts your buying and how much they cost.
then start early and buy them all as soon as you can. it works trust me.
I answered this for someone else…the info. should be relevant for you, too:
1) Visit during the off season. Room rates vary, depending on the time of the year. Take advantage of the discounts! You can find discount codes on http://www.mousesavers.com.
2) Visit a planning site like http://www.allearsnet.com, which has virtually anytihing you'd ever want to know. For example, in the past I have used their menus (which include prices) to come up with a meal budget, and it was within $3 of my estimate when I completed my vacation.
3) Instead of buying a package, buy each component (hotel, rental car, tickets, etc.) separately. For example, you can save on tickets at a site like http://www.ticketmania.com. But be VERY careful where you buy your tickets, as there are a lot of timeshare scam places that will trick you with low prices into having to take a tour or buying bogus tickets.
4) If you're adventurous, you can get a cheap rental car and a Downtown Disney-area hotel via Priceline. You won't know where you're staying, but the deals can be excellent. http://www.biddingfortravel.com has great information on using Priceline.

Cual es la cancion inicial?
Stop going out to eat. This is where we spend most of our money. We save BIG TIME when we don't go out to eat (unless it's a special occasion).
If you're over 21, stop buying alcohol. This is where alot of mine and my fiance's money went to, as well.
Clip coupons on anything you buy from the grocery store. Wal-Mart is cheaper on groceries, than other food stores, like Food Lion, and Lowe's Foods.
Stop going out to movies, doing recreational things. Movies in my city are 7.50 for a matinee and 10.50 for evening movies.
Cut back on texting, if you have cell phones in your family. Me and my fiance went over on our cell phone bill by almost 50 dollars every month, until we cut back on the texting.
Stop buying expensive clothes. You can get the same kind of clothes, with great deals at clothing stores like Ross, Rugged Warehouse, and Marshall's. They have designer labels, at about half the price.
Cancel your internet package.
Become friends with hand-me-downs. Great sites for used things are http://www.freecycle.org, where you can find a local freecycle group to join. The concept of freecycle, if you're not familiar with it, is that rather than throwing away useful items, people offer them up online to other people in their neighborhood. Anything can be offered, the main rule is that it has to be legal, and it has to be free.
Another great site is http://www.craigslist.com. The default site is San Fransisco, but if you look to the right hand side, you can navigate to any state and find the one closest to you. Similar to freecycle, people can post the things they want to sell or give away, or post things they're looking for. They can also post basic jobs (like getting their lawn mowed, cleaning houses, etc) they're looking for people to do for them.
Getting used things can save an enormous amount of money for your family if you're willing to accept used things. Just thinking of how much money each year one could spend buying clothes for a child–which will be outgrown soon anyway, one could easily spend $300-$1500 per year clothing a young child. If you're smart about it, though, and anticipate the next sizes early and keep an eye out for things early on, it's possible to only be spending money on things like underwear and socks that you wouldn't want to get used.
Another idea if you have the time, is to plant a garden. You can spend a few dollars on some seed packets and have a few hundred dollars worth of fresh fruits and veggies later in the summer. This is a great way to save money, and if you learn how to bottle the food (mason jars, lids with rubber seals) properly, you can even have the food into the winter for minimal cost.
Save on your electric bill by installing energy saving bulbs, remembering to turn things off and/or unplug them if you're not using them, buy a digital thermostat so you can program the heat/air conditioning to use less energy when you're sleeping or not at home, etc. Energy costs can be one of the big areas each month where you can cut money out of your budget.
Take a look at your phones. Are you paying for a landline when you don't really need one? Many families are becoming cell only families. Look at your cell plan. Are you paying for more minutes/features than you really need? Do you really need that data package to surf the net with your cell phone? Are you really texting enough to warrant that feature on the package, and if you are, is it important enough that you couldn't do without texting?
Now take a look at your cable/internet package. Are you really watching all the channels you're paying for, or could you pare down on what you have in favor of a cheaper bill? We let our cable go completly and just went to one of the digital converter boxes, and we love it! We get so much more done around the house, and after the minimal initial cost, we don't have to pay any subscription fees at all. Going from a $120 package for TV channels we weren't really watching on a regular basis anyway to paying nothing per month is a really fast way to save money.
Also, how important is the internet access? Could you accomplish what you need to do at school, work, or the public library reasonably? If you've got an online business or something that might not be feasible, but if you're only using it to check your e-mail, it might be workable.
Do you live close enough to your destinations that you could walk or bike to commute? When we moved closer to my work, I was able to start bicycling to work every day, and saved an average of $30 per week off commuting costs. Added benefit was that I lost about 30 lbs in 6 months without changing my diet at all. Plus, I didn't have to deal with traffic jams, parking issues at work, or getting stuck behind school buses.
One of the great things about cutting back some of the ways I suggested is that with a reduction in the amount of TV you watch and internet you use, you spend more time doing the things that matter–playing with the kids, cleaning the house, reading books, talking to the neighbors, etc. It's really good for you emotionally to do it, because it forces you to get out and be physically active.
Since she's only three she will be easily entertained, I don't know where you live but in St. Augustine, FL there is an old fort that is free and there's lots of things in it that a 3 year old would like. Like the others take your own food. Rest area on the highways have picnic tables so you could have picnics every day for lunch. If there' a board game for her age, you could play after you've eaten or bring things like coloring books and books you can read to her. At that age they just want your undivided attention and you'll be able to do that easily. You could even bring a tent and camp out at a National or State Park, the cost for camping is not very much and there are usually trails to walk. I bet she'd love that. Zoos are also a good idea as well as Miniature golf. You could even take her to one of those $1.00 stores and let her pick out ten toys. For a special treat take her to McDonald's or a pizza hut, what ever she likes. They are so easy to please at that age and they don't care if it was free or cost a million dollars. Enjoy it while you can, once they hit 12 they are very difficult to please.
